Reconstruction Estimator
Join the Americon Restoration Team
Americon Restoration of the Ohio Valley is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Reconstruction Estimator to join our growing team.
The Reconstruction Estimator will inspect residential and commercial properties, evaluate reconstruction needs, and prepare accurate estimates and scopes of work following water, fire, storm, and other property damage. This position works closely with property owners, insurance adjusters, project managers, subcontractors, and internal production teams to help move projects from initial inspection through approval and reconstruction.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of construction methods, restoration estimating, insurance claims, and Xactimate estimating software.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect residential and commercial properties to assess damage and reconstruction needs
- Prepare detailed estimates, scopes of work, material takeoffs, and labor calculations
- Create and manage estimates using Xactimate or similar estimating software
- Review photographs, measurements, project documentation, and insurance information
- Identify necessary repairs and ensure estimates accurately reflect the complete project scope
- Prepare supplements and supporting documentation when additional work is discovered
- Communicate with property owners, insurance adjusters, project managers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Maintain accurate project notes, estimates, documentation, and communication records
- Review approved estimates and help transition projects into production
- Assist project managers with estimating questions, scope clarification, and project changes
- Monitor estimate approvals and follow up with the appropriate parties when needed
- Maintain knowledge of current construction methods, materials, pricing, and industry standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in reconstruction, restoration, construction estimating, or a related field
- Experience using Xactimate or comparable estimating software
- Strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods and materials
- Understanding of labor costs, material costs, repair processes, and project scopes
- Familiarity with property insurance claims and restoration documentation
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and projects at the same time
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the Ohio Valley service area
- Restoration, estimating, or construction industry certifications are a plus
